Finally finished a few things

Was finishing up at my moms house. She is coming home on monday and we got the last of the 4 raised planting beds done, and even a hint there had ever been a butterfly bush removed.

My brother did the majority of the work, and we hired a friend of his to help for a few hours. I did some but not as much as they did. I got to go get soil, and pay for stuff more than anything. I did move some of the dirt, raked some, planted the one bed that was ready, and helped moved some shrubs but that was about it.

This is the after picture above...the before picture was posted awhile ago with the butterfly bush in the front corner of the house. It looks so much more open and nice now. My brothers friend tilled up the ground all around her daylillies so she will really enjoy this when she gets home I think. She asked me the other day if we had gotten rid of the butterfly bush. I told her she was not allowed to ask those kind of questions. Tomorrow I want to go out and fix up her deck and some of the house my little brother is "living in" while they are gone. He doesn't make too much of a mess but would be nice to have the house nice when she gets home.

Its amazing but these look very deceiving how much work is involved getting them done! They are 4' x 12'. Take about 2 yards of dirt per. We use a compost for the first yard then a raised bed planting mix for the 2nd yard. We used 32 railroad ties, had to cut 8 of them in half to make the ends. I planted onions in the 3rd bed away from the swimming pool, in the bottom picture you can kind of see them a little bit they are the 2nd from the bottom.
